"Cu toti  avem prin bucatarie vase de lut mostenite eventual de la  bunici (Acestea fiind o adevarata comoara daca le avem ). Dar in timpurile noastre folosim mult inoxurile, tefloanele si mai nou (formele  de silicon ). Nu este greu sa credem ca stramosii paharelor de cristal si ulcelelor si a farfuriilor  de portelan au  fost ulcelele si castroanele de lut. Cu atit mai mult, nici nu remarcam diferentele cind mincarurile sunt pregatite in cuptorul cu microunde sau sunt pregatite in mod traditional.  In schimb bunicii nostri cunosteau foarte bine toate subtilitatile prepararii mincarurilor la  vatra. Fie  ele vase de lut alb, rosu sau cafeniu. Pentru  fiecare exista o destinatie speciala. De exemplu, cel mai aromat  ceai se face in ceainicul de ceramica  alba, iar laptele se prinde cel mai bine in ulcele de lut cafeniu. Vasele de pamint ars s-au folosit mult timp si de catre vraci si tamaduitori in medicina traditionala. Si in zilele noastre se recomanda pastrarea plantelor uscate si a mirodeniilor in recipiente de lut. Putini stiu ca in zilele noastre eschimosii  folosesc argila in alimentatie. Nu orice fel de argila bineinteles, ci numai argila alba ,numita "grasimea pamintului " . "
